Caffeine

Caffeine (1,3,7 trimethylxanthine) is a natural substance preset in coffee, tea, cocoa and in many other plants.

Its most notable stimulating effect is the one as a central nervous system stimulant. But among many other properties listed below, it’s interesting to note that caffeine and its metabolites, theobromine and xanthine, show also antioxidant properties.

Daily dose of caffeine

Moderate daily caffeine intake at a dose level up to 400 mg/day (6 mg/kg of body weight), for healthy adult of average weight, is not associated with adverse effects on his health. The special subgroup, like reproductive-aged women should limit consumption to 300 mg of caffeine a day (4,6 mg/kg of body weight)
